Engines and sport are his passions, and the mechanic and qualified ski instructor is considered to be the world's top rally driver. He won the French Rallye Jeunes for up-and-coming drivers in 2005 and went on to win the junior world championship title within the space of just three years. He joined the WRC in 2009 and scored his first victory in 2010 in Rally Portugal. This was followed in 2011 by five rally victories and third place overall in the championship. The Frenchman has been a part of the Volkswagen Motorsport team since November 2011. In the 2012 season, Ogier competed in eleven WRC events in the Škoda Fabia S2000 and also played an active part in developing the Polo R WRC. This paid off, as the 2013 season proved to be the Frenchman's most successful season of his career to date, with a dream coming true after eleven out of the 13 rallies: Ogier clinched the Drivers' Championship title in Rally France, before the season had finished. In the 2014 season it is a tough challenge against his team-mate Jari-Matti Latvala, but after twelve out of the 13 rallies Ogier successfully defends his World Champion title. And there was no beating the Frenchman the following year. Eight wins in 13 rallies went to Ogier, he defended his title for the second time and will contest his fourth WRC season for Volkswagen in 2016.
